The 2026 KTM 50 SX is a purpose-built youth motocross machine designed to give aspiring riders a head start on the track. Engineered with KTM’s READY TO RACE philosophy, this lightweight and agile bike combines high-performance components, race-proven technology, and user-friendly ergonomics to help young riders develop skill, confidence, and speed. Whether stepping into their first competitive races or honing motocross fundamentals, the 50 SX provides a reliable, race-ready platform to grow with.
At the heart of the 50 SX is a spirited 49 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine. Paired with a smooth centrifugal clutch, it delivers a responsive and controllable powerband ideal for junior racers. The engine’s efficient design allows strong acceleration out of corners while maintaining manageable throttle control through technical sections. Lightweight internal components and precise cooling ensure consistent performance lap after lap, providing young riders with a reliable machine that grows with their abilities.
The chassis combines a high-strength central-tube steel frame with an aluminum/polyamide subframe, offering the perfect balance of rigidity and controlled flex. This design ensures agile handling, stable cornering, and predictable feedback, allowing riders to feel connected to the track while building confidence in their lines and control. Race-oriented ergonomics feature a compact rider triangle, adjustable handlebars, and durable footpegs to maximize grip, comfort, and control for young athletes.
Suspension duties are handled by WP XACT components tailored for youth racing. The 36 mm WP XACT AER front fork uses air-spring technology and can be easily adjusted with an air pump to suit rider weight and track conditions. At the rear, the WP XACT shock offers full adjustability for preload, compression, and rebound, delivering superior traction, stability, and control over jumps, bumps, and rough terrain.
Rolling on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels fitted with high-traction tires, and backed by hydraulic disc brakes, the KTM 50 SX ensures responsive handling and consistent stopping power. Durable bodywork, aggressive styling, and KTM’s signature color scheme complete a bike that is both functional and visually striking.
