Description
The 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 brings a major leap forward in the mid-weight adventure category, combining rally-inspired DNA with real-world usability. At its heart sits the renowned 689 cc CP2 parallel-twin engine, now enhanced with Yamaha’s Chip-Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) for the first time. Ride-by-wire control enables two selectable riding maps—“Sport” for immediate response, and “Explorer” for smoother delivery—along with switchable traction control and a three-mode ABS system that can be set fully on, rear only off, or fully disabled.
Designed to thrive both on tarmac and dirt, the Ténéré 700 features a fully redesigned chassis and new ergonomics. The 16-litre fuel tank has been repositioned lower and further forward to improve mass centralisation and handling, while fresh bodywork and rally-style LED lighting reinforce its rugged character. The long-travel suspension—43 mm inverted forks and a revised rear linkage system—delivers 210 mm of front travel and 200 mm at the rear, giving the bike a generous 240 mm of ground clearance, perfect for mixed terrain adventures.
Technology gets a rally upgrade too: a vertical 6.3-inch full-colour TFT display offers smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation via the MyRide app, and one-touch access to ABS/TCS modes. A dedicated switch on the left handlebar means off-road settings can be changed mid-ride without stopping.
Weighing in around 208 kg (wet) and with a commanding seat height of 875 mm, the Ténéré 700 balances serious off-road capability with street confidence. Reviewers noted its improved ergonomics, refined ride feel, and exceptional composure in demanding environments.
