The 2025 Yamaha MT-09 SP takes the already potent MT-09 platform and cranks it to elite level with track-bred componentry and sharper rider adjustability. Powered by the 890 cc CP3 crossplane triple engine, it delivers 119 hp and 93 Nm of explosive torque, with Yamaha’s signature raw triple-cylinder pulse that surges through the midrange and begs to be ridden hard out of every corner. The soundtrack is addictive — intoxicating induction growl, instant torque, and seamless drive through the quickshifter-equipped 6-speed gearbox.

What makes the SP special is its Öhlins and Brembo pedigree. Fully adjustable Öhlins rear shock, premium Brembo Stylema front calipers, and KYB adjustable fork mean this MT-09 has real track-spec braking precision and chassis control right out of the crate. It’s sharper, stiffer and more responsive than the standard model — purpose-built for riders who don’t just ride fast, they ride precisely.

A six-axis IMU controls lean-sensitive traction, slide control, lift control, and brake control — all tunable via the 5-inch TFT dash with custom ride modes. Cruise control, quickshifter, cornering lights and ride-by-wire come standard. It’s raw performance, but fully intelligent.

Visually, the SP makes its intentions obvious — exclusive Icon Performance colours, brushed aluminium swingarm, premium switchgear and stealth dark accents. The riding position is aggressive yet natural, and at 189 kg wet, it feels like a weapon you can throw around with absolute confidence.
